How to make the BEST craft play-doh from your Kitchen.

Create pizza, rainbows, garden flowers and even people with your very own craft play-doh!

Creating play-doh at home is an all time favorite! It is quick and easy.

You will need:

-3 cups of flour (plus one extra to sprinkle for Kneading)

-1/4 cup of salt

-2 tablespoons of cream of tartar (found in the spice aisle)

-2 tablespoons of oil

-1.5 cups of warm water

-Food Coloring (optional)

Directions:

-Mix the first three dry ingredients in a bowl.

-Then add in the oil, and warm water.

-Knead the dough until it is resistant to sticking to your hands.

-Place the dough on a flat surface and cut into four quarters.

-Add 10 drops of food coloring in the center of each ball. (I encourage you to wear gloves for this part).

Feel free to design and create figurines with your play-doh. Feel free to teach about primary colors and mixing of colors to create new ones. (Ex: red + blue = Purple, yellow + blue = green, red + yellow = orange, purple + green + orange = brown).

We really had a great time with this! I even put the play-doh in a Ziploc bag, then gave to my one-year-old to touch and squeeze as a sensory activity!

Clean up tip: Use a large post it board paper, newspaper, or cut trash bag as your surface. Things are sure to get messy! Have fun!
