Now, imagine coloring with a crayon shaped in any mold that you want. For this craft we used the silicone Prince and Princess crown mold. Imagine little glitter specs radiating across the paper as you draw…YEP! That is what we are going for!

These crayons molds can be given out as party favors and gifts. Furthermore, if you get a silicone mold of the alphabet, you can even spell your child’s name. Feel free to add magnets to the back and stick on the fridge. The possibilities are endless. Practice spelling words and even do imaginative play with the diverse shapes and molds that you create! Go wild with these crayon creations.

Melted Crayons in Silicone mold creating multicolor Prince/Princess Glitter Crown Crayons.

The instructions are simple:

  1. Get a box of crayons, and use a razor blade to slice the paper wrapping off of the crayon vertically. I sliced all of the crayon wrappers beforehand, and then allowed my little one to unwrap all of the crayons.

  2. Break the crayons in small random pieces. (Set aside)

  3. Sprinkle glitter into the silicone mold. I found my silicone mold in the baking aisle at Michaels craft store.

  4. Add the broken crayons into the mold. (Set aside)

  5. Cover a cookie baking sheet with foil.

  6. Place the silicone mold onto the baking sheet.

  7. Place in the oven for 10 minutes at 300 degrees.

  8. Check to make sure all the crayons have melted.

  9. Add 1 minute increments until all crayons are melted.

  10. Let sit until cool and hard. Pop out of the mold and enjoy!
